EU - CANADA RELATIONS: EXPLORING THE BENEFITS OF CLOSER TIES

This conference is the concluding event of a two year long project partially funded by the European Commission with the goal of organizing a series of activities to promote awareness among the business communities of Western Canada of the benefits of the Comprehensive and Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) currently under negotiation between Canada and the EU. Successful round table events have been held in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver in cooperation with local Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade.
The concluding event will be a conference in Vancouver which will provide an opportunity for the representatives of the Chambers and Boards of Trade, in the presence of representatives of the European Commission and the Canadian Minister of International Trade, the Honourable Ed Fast, to give a voice to their constituent business communities with regards to the challenges and opportunities presented by the enhanced economic agreement.

EU - CANADA FREE TRADE NEGOTIATIONS: SEEKING INPUTS FROM BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY

The EU and Canada are currently in negotiations for a groundbreaking Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) that could provide an annual increase of EUR 20 billion to the economic activity of the two trading areas.

This series of round table will provide an update on the status of the negotiations and an opportunity for business leaders to participate in a discussion on some of the key issues of CETA.
